Questions, answered

Everything you need to know before planning a Northeast India trip — permits, seasons, what's included, and how we work.

Booking & Payment

Everything starts with a conversation — there's no online booking form. Message us on WhatsApp or call, share where you'd like to go, when, and how many people. We ask a few questions to understand your travel style, then put together a detailed itinerary for you.

Once you're happy with the plan, we confirm your booking with an advance payment. We accept bank transfers (NEFT/IMPS/UPI), all major UPI apps, and credit cards. The balance is due before the trip departs.

For peak season (October to February), we recommend reaching out 6–8 weeks in advance. Good hotels in Tawang, Lachen, and Lachung fill quickly, and Arunachal ILP permits need processing time.

For off-season travel we can usually work with 2–3 weeks notice — but accommodation options will be more limited. The earlier you contact us, the more we can offer.

Customisation & Itineraries

The packages on the website are starting points, not fixed products. Every trip we plan is built specifically for your group. You can extend days, change the hotel tier, swap destinations, or adjust the pace entirely.

If nothing listed feels right, just tell us what you have in mind. We build fully custom routes all the time — multi-state combos, slow travel itineraries, trips focused on a single region.

No. Every trip is a private, exclusive experience for your group only. Your vehicle, your driver, your schedule — you will never be combined with other travellers or asked to share transport or accommodation with strangers.

Yes, we can plan trips for solo travellers — though it's not something we specialise in. Our trips are designed around couples, families, and small groups, and the pricing and logistics are optimised for 2 or more people. A solo trip is possible but will naturally cost more per person.

If you're travelling alone and keen to explore the Northeast, reach out and we'll see what we can put together for you.

Permits & Documentation

An Inner Line Permit (ILP) is a government-issued document required for Indian citizens to enter certain protected states. Arunachal Pradesh requires an ILP — you cannot legally enter without one. Meghalaya does not require one. Sikkim requires separate restricted area permits for North Sikkim zones (Lachen, Lachung, Nathula).

We handle all permit applications for every destination we cover. You don't need to apply anywhere yourself.

We'll ask for scanned copies of your Aadhaar card and a passport-size photo for each traveller. Some restricted zones may additionally require a utility bill. That's it — we process everything and share the permit documents with you before departure.

What's Included

Every package includes hotel accommodation (twin or double sharing), a dedicated private vehicle with driver for the full trip duration, all applicable permits, and sightseeing as per the itinerary.

Meals are not included by default — so you have flexibility on where you eat — but we can add breakfast or full board on request. Flights and trains to the starting point are not included.

All vehicles are Innova Crysta or equivalent SUVs, suited to mountain roads. Our drivers are part of a trusted network we've worked with over years — not operators picked off a portal.

Hotels range from well-run guesthouses in remote areas to the best available properties in towns like Tawang, Gangtok, and Shillong. We offer standard, deluxe, and super-deluxe tiers — your itinerary will name each property so you can review it before confirming.

Travel insurance is not included in our packages and we cannot arrange it directly.

Best Time to Visit

October to April is the ideal window across all destinations. October–November brings post-monsoon clarity and fresh landscapes. December–February is cold but the mountain views are extraordinary. March–May sees rhododendrons bloom across Sikkim and Arunachal.

June to September is monsoon season — heavy rain causes landslides and road closures on all mountain routes. We do not recommend travel during this period.

Meghalaya is the most accessible entry point — no permits required, a great mix of waterfalls, living root bridges, caves, and culture, with no altitude concerns. Ideal for families and senior travellers on their first Northeast trip.

Sikkim is a close second — more dramatic mountain scenery, straightforward permits, and excellent roads. Arunachal is the most remote and rewarding but better suited to travellers already comfortable with mountain road journeys.
