At 13,700 feet, Sela Pass cuts through clouds and snow on the road to Tawang. The glacial lake beside the pass, the prayer flags in the wind, the silence — it's one of the most dramatic drives in India.
(Madhuri Lake) is a stunning high-altitude lake near Tawang, known for its crystal-clear waters and hauntingly beautiful landscape of submerged tree trunks rising from the surface. Surrounded by mountains and formed after an earthquake.
Two of India's most remote and pristine valleys — barely touched by tourism. Anini in the Dibang Valley and Mechuka near the China border offer a silence and wilderness that's genuinely hard to find elsewhere.

The best time to visit. Skies are crystal clear after the rains, roads are open, and the entire landscape is lush and vivid. Tawang and the high passes are at their most spectacular.
✓ Best seasonCold but deeply rewarding. Sela Pass sees snowfall and Tawang looks magical under white. Roads are usually open with the right vehicle. Ideal for those who want solitude and snow-dusted monasteries.
✓ Great seasonRhododendrons bloom across the hillsides and the valleys come alive. A beautiful time to travel — warm days, blooming forests, and the Tawang valley in soft spring light.
✓ Hidden gemHeavy rains can cause landslides and road closures on the mountain routes. Travel is unpredictable and some areas become inaccessible. We recommend avoiding this period entirely.
