Northeast India Tours
Private, Customised, Your Way

Meghalaya, Arunachal, Sikkim and the routes between them — planned privately by a team that runs every trip on its own ground.

Before the photos

How the Northeast actually fits together

The Northeast isn’t one trip. It’s living root bridges and the world’s wettest hills in Meghalaya, dawn-lit monasteries and high passes in Arunachal, and tea-estate calm under snow peaks in Sikkim. Most people try to see too much in too little time.

How many days do you need in the Northeast?

More than most people plan for. Meghalaya on its own wants 5–7 days to cover Shillong, Cherrapunji, Dawki and the root-bridge treks without rushing. Arunachal up to Tawang needs 7–9, because the mountain roads are slow by design. A two-state Meghalaya–Arunachal combination is realistically 9–12 days. Sikkim sits on its own circuit at 5–7 days.

Which states combine well?

Meghalaya and Arunachal pair naturally — both route through Guwahati, so you can travel from the Meghalaya hills into the Arunachal mountains without backtracking, often with a Kaziranga safari slotted between them. Meghalaya also combines easily with a short Kaziranga add-on on its own. Sikkim is the exception: it’s reached via Bagdogra, not Guwahati, so it’s usually done as its own trip.

When should you go?

October to April is the clear-skies window — open roads, comfortable days, the best stretch for first-timers. The monsoon months bring the waterfalls and root-bridge streams to full force if you don’t mind rain. For Tawang, the season is tighter — high-altitude weather and occasional snow shape when the passes are comfortable, which we plan around.

Do you need permits?

Indian travellers don’t need a permit for Meghalaya. Arunachal requires an Inner Line Permit, and the higher routes in Sikkim need protected-area permits — both of which we arrange as part of your trip, so it’s never something you chase yourself.

Good to know

Common questions before you book

Are Reify Travels trips fully private?

Yes. Every trip is private and customised — your own vehicle, driver and itinerary. We don’t run group or shared departures.

Does Reify handle permits?

Yes. Arunachal’s Inner Line Permit and Sikkim’s protected-area permits are arranged as part of your package; you don’t apply separately.

Do you cover families and senior travellers?

Often. A large share of our trips are families and couples, and we plan pace, stays and drives around who’s actually travelling.

How do I book?

Start on WhatsApp. We plan the route and confirm the trip first; payment comes once the itinerary is agreed.

Can I combine more than one state?

Yes — Meghalaya with Arunachal or a Kaziranga add-on is common. Sikkim is usually a separate trip via Bagdogra.
